An Arizona man who threatened to “viciously murder” his roommate on Twitter was arrested after killing him in real life. Zachary Penton, 21, (above) tweeted: “I need to move out of my place before I viciously murder my roommates” on Saturday, and the next day he called police and confessed that he had shot his roommate, 41-year-old Daniel Garofalo. HOUSTON — A father in north Houston was killed by a robber while taking his wife and baby daughter to buy ice cream on Sunday afternoon. The robber also died when the father shot him in self-defense.
Erasmo Alaniz and his wife, Deana Precella, had just arrived at the strip mall at 200 Aldine Bender Road shortly after 5 p.m. when a man got into their car next to the baby and pointed a gun at Precella’s neck. “Give me all you have” he demanded, and, at first, Alaniz handed over his cash.
But then Alaniz grabbed his pistol and a gunfight broke out inside the car. Alaniz was fatally shot and died in the driver’s seat, while the robber was able to get out of the car. He didn’t make far. A few paces into the parking lot, the robber collapsed on his back and died.
Police are looking for a gray Dodge Charger that the robber’s accomplice used to drop him off. Immediately after the shooting, a man who is apparently the victim’s brother was recorded lashing out in anguish at the killer, who was already dead.
Deana Precella says Erasmo Alaniz is her second husband to be taken from her, after the father of her other children was killed in another robbery in 2007. The family has setup a GoFundMe page to help cover Erasmo’s funeral expenses. You can find the page here: http://www.gofundme.com/p443xd8w

A 23-year-old New York man is facing second-degree murder charges after he confessed to drowning his mother in a swimming pool. Suffolk County police say that Denis Cullen, Jr., put his mother, Elizabeth Cullen, into a chokehold at her home in Cold Springs Harbor on Long Island before dragging her into the deep end and holding her underwater. Prosecutors say that Denis told investigators that the dispute with his mother began after she scolded him for not taking his medication. One man is dead and another on the run after the two shot at a marijuana dispensery guard in LA on Wednesday.
At 12:20pm, two men entered Nature’s Cure Inc., in the 5400 block of Century Boulevard near LAX.
They opened fire on the pot shop guard, and he returned fire, wounding one of the shooters in the abdomen.
No one else was hit, but a woman who was inside at the time suffered injuries after falling and hitting her head.
The two suspects fled the scene. One described as a black man in his 30’s sped away in a dark 7 series BMW. The area is lined with hotels, so it is assumed the vehicle will have been caught on surveillance video.
The other man, described only as a man in his 30’s ran west down the street toward a Westin hotel.
He collapsed in the hotel parking lot and several police cars arrived at the scene within minutes. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Information has not been made available on whether any pot or money was stolen from the marijuana dispensery, and the man who fled is still on the loose.
