Last year in the Netherlands, a grandpa and grandma took their 2-year-old granddaughter for a bike ride along a picturesque bike path that runs near a road.
A man, identified in court documents only as a Polish national, was speeding along the same road that day, going at least 120 kilometers per hour, or about 75 miles per hour.
The speed limit along the road is 80 kilometers per hour.
As the speeder rounded a bend, he lost control of his vehicle, went off the road and hit the cyclists. Grandpa, grandma and their little granddaughter were killed instantly.
Sentencing of the 33-year-old Polish driver finally arrived last week, and the grieving father of the little girl must have been expecting a harsh punishment for the man who had taken his child and his parents from him.
Instead, the judge gave the speeder 120 hours of community service or 60 days in jail, promoting the dad to pick up a chair and throw it towards the judge.

When I first saw the CNN coverage of the Munich massacre this afternoon, I noticed that the broadcasters went out of their way, with exactly zero evidence, to suggest that the killer might have been a right wing extremist, not a Jihadist.
A witness who will only be identified as Lauretta told CNN her son was in a bathroom with a shooter at the restaurant.

A British woman who sent nude photos to five boys and had sex with one of them has been sentenced to two years in jail.
The Worksop Guardian reports that Gail Wright groomed 14- and 15-year-old boys, giving one of them a pair of Nike sneakers and clothes for their 16th birthday. The 44-year-old would also send nude photos of herself through Facebook.
Wright was caught when one of the boy’s fathers found the explicit images on his son’s phone. Investigators said they found 42 images on her iPad that she sent to the boys.

A man in Ohio has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in what’s been described as a sophisticated worldwide child pornography ring.
According to WLWT, 36-year-old Jason Gmoser, the son of Butler County Prosecutor Mike Gmoser, was convicted in February on charges of engaging in a child-exploitation enterprise, conspiracy to advertise child pornography and conspiracy to distribute child pornography. Gmoser is one of five people to be charged in connection to the site; the other four men involved in this enterprise have accepted plea deals.
